Discovery STEM Education is a not for profit organisation based at Kelham Island Museum.
Bespoke enrichment days, after school clubs, holiday workshops, career specific courses for post-16 students and CPD for teachers are delivered by experienced practitioners with expertise in engaging young people.
We work closely with the Department of Mechanical Engineering
at Sheffield University and in collaboration with their doctoral training centres (where students investigate machining and tribology), we are proudly supported in making STEM education accessible for all. By helping children of all backgrounds to explore and exeperience science and engineering, we can inspire and motivate the next generation, supporting young people to become the Sheffield scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians who will shape our future and take on the world's greatest challenges.
We work with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Ambassadors. We are approved by Sheffield City Council as a Children’s University Learning Destination (ages 5 – 18) and we have been recognised with an award from Bury City Council for backing young people.
Validated Children's University Learning Destination.
